What I do

What I can do

Standard texts and summaries are now available at the touch of a button. You don’t need me for that.

I take over where AI reaches its limits: with complex reports, investigative research and the strategic planning of stories.

I also help you to master AI – so that you get results that sound like a human and not like a machine.

Reportage & Portrait

Stories that are created on location. With observation, empathy and depth. Nothing from the desk.

Story architect

I structure your material into a script. I define the sound and rhythm - the AI can then take over the execution.

Ghostwriter

Books & essays: Your knowledge, my pen. Discreet, precise and in the perfect tone of voice. For texts that are here to stay.

AI refiner

I revise AI texts. I break up the algorithmic smoothness, build in tension. In the end, the words sound human.

Mentor

I train your eye for quality. So that you control the machine instead of just accepting results.

Researcher

Investigative & OSINT. In-depth research and fact checks (also in Arabic). I find facts that are not on Google.

A portrait of a man with short, gray hair and blue eyes. He has a short beard and is wearing a striped shirt under a black garment. The background is light and neutral.

I take on assignments at home and abroad. As a freelance author, I can organize my time flexibly.

That’s why I work on smaller jobs as well as longer-term projects.

Story architecture & script

From raw material to structure. Many have content, but no form. I review your material and build a dramaturgical structure from it—something like a script. I define: Who is telling the story? What’s the sound? Where is the arc of tension?

You will receive a blueprint. You can use it to brief AI tools efficiently – or I can finish the story myself. The goal: a text with rhythm that the reader won’t click away from.

Understanding AI as a tool

Prompting is easy. Judging is difficult. For AI to deliver good texts, you need to know what a good text is. I will not only show you technical tricks, but also train your eye for language.

How do you recognize AI gibberish? How do you add sound to a static text? I teach you how to edit and refine the results of AI. So that the technology works for you – at your level.

Scientific work

Precision instead of poetry. As an external employee of the Bern University of Applied Sciences (BFH), I research and analyze complex topics: Arab economy, cultural codes, geopolitical contexts.

Academic rules apply here. But data alone is not convincing. I pack sober facts into a clear argument. So that the analysis is not only precise, but is also read.

Someone saw what was about to happen some time later and moved the whole world. You can’t expect more ingenious foresight from a journalist.
The literary travelogue is considered a dying breed. In his book ‘As a Spy on the Nile’, the journalist vividly describes how Egypt’s society has developed in recent years beyond the Nile cruises and luxury hotels on the Red Sea. He convincingly explains why the revolution is bringing the Muslim Brotherhood to power and why the military will not stand by and watch.

Martin Wein

Die Zeit

In a Country Starting Over is an intelligent look at Tunisia (…) Living in Tunisia or traveling to the country is not easy at the moment, as this well-researched book makes clear. However, it offers special experiences, precisely because many things are in a state of upheaval and some things are on the move. However, Drißner is immune to developing an overly romanticized attitude of authenticity.

Stefan Fischer

Süddeutsche Zeitung

Austrian journalist Gerald Drißner tours Tunisia, from his small rented apartment in Tunis to the farthest corners of the country. The encounters with smugglers, farmers and revolutionaries and the conversations in the coffee houses allow the reader to experience everyday life in Tunisia after the revolution.
